What type of internet connection is recommended for me to use the GIS-Web?

A broadband connection is recommended (DSL, cable, etc.).

What internet browsers are supported by this website?

The application was designed to be used by Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher and Mozilla FireFox.  However, the application can be accessed by other browsers like Netscape, Opera and Safari.   If you are not using IE 7.0+ or FireFox, you won't be able to access the markup capabilities and some other tools, like the “Measure Distance” and “Measure Area” tools, may not show the stretchy line or box.

What other things should I know about the GIS-Web and my internet browser?

The GIS-Web uses some JavaScript, so be sure to enable JavaScript in your browser while using the GIS-Web.

Website Update Frequency

How often is the data contained in this website updated?

Most GIS layers and owner assessment data that comprise the GIS-Web Application website are updated quarterly.

Also note that some GIS layers (e.g. contours, orthophotography (aerial photos), soils, etc.) are not updated quarterly and may only be updated on a yearly (or longer) basis.

Are there any additional software requirements?

Yes to view certain reports and to interact with web dialogs you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and your pop up blocker disabled.
